Key to UK digital verification registry to launch this year

( April 13, 2026, 17:29 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A tool to prove the legitimacy of a digital ID will be enabled later this year, UK officials said on Monday, moving along the implementation of the Data (Use and Access) Act. To access their users’ data held by public authorities, providers of digital verification services need to be registered with the Office for Digital Identities & Attributes. This new infrastructure grants authorities secure access to that list, opening the “information gateway.” Next, OfDIA will publish the providers’ Code of Practice and gather user input.Statement follows....
