X probed by Irish data protection watchdog following Grok sexualized images

( February 17, 2026, 00:01 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: X is being investigated by Ireland's data watchdog following the apparent creation and publication of non-consensual intimate and sexualized images by its Grok AI chatbot which contained or involved the processing of personal data of Europeans, including children. The country's Data Protection Commission said in a statement that it would examine whether X complied with the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, or GDPR, including data protection by design and conducting impact assessments. The watchdog said it has been engaging with X “since media reports first emerged a number of weeks ago” and notified the platform of its investigation on Monday.Statement follows....
