US judge dismisses Samsung SEP antitrust suit against ZTE

( February 11, 2026, 02:05 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A California federal judge granted ZTE's motion to dismiss Samsung's lawsuit claiming that ZTE refused to license patents at competitive rates. US District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín found that the US Northern District of California lacks personal jurisdiction over ZTE. "[A]ll the parties’ licensing negotiations occurred outside the United States and the negotiations themselves concerned global cellular communication standards overseen by ETSI, a French organization," the judge wrote in an order. She granted ZTE's motion to dismiss with leave to amend.See attached order....
