Hong Kong privacy watchdog warns over Grok chatbot's use to generate indecent content

The Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data said in a statement on Thursday that it was contacting the company to understand the situation, noting similar concerns in other jurisdictions. The office cautioned that improper or malicious use of AI chatbots could breach the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance and may also constitute other criminal offenses. It urged the public not to share personal data without consent, to avoid generating illegal content, to review chatbots’ privacy policies and terms of use, and to treat AI-generated content with caution.Statement follows....
