China's generative AI registry expands as filings, registrations surge in 2025

( January 12, 2026, 04:23 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: China added 446 generative artificial intelligence services that completed national record filing in 2025, while local cyberspace regulators registered another 330 applications or functions that directly call filed models via APIs or other means, according to the internet regulator. From April 2024 through the end of 2025, a total of 748 generative AI services had completed national filing, and 435 AI applications or functions had been registered.
