During parliament's first debate on the planned legislation, ministers defended its focus on essential services and specified digital providers, but said other businesses should also strengthen their cyber defenses.The UK government's proposed legislation for strengthening the cyber defences for essential public services has been criticized by lawmakers for not covering major private-sector victims of recent attacks such as Marks & Spencer and Jaguar Land Rover....
