Meta to remove Australian under 16 users as teen social-media ban inches closer

In a statement on Thursday, Meta said that to comply with Australia’s upcoming “social media age ban law,” it will begin removing access to Instagram, Threads, and Facebook for teens under 16 from Dec. 4. It added that it will also block the creation of new accounts for under-16 teens.
