UK tech sector calls for fraud initiatives to align with online safety law

( November 19, 2025, 14:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK initiatives against fraud online must avoid duplication with the Online Safety Act, which “should take precedence” over separate projects, industry group TechUK has said in a new report. The group, which represents over 1,000 businesses, also argued that debates around fraud reimbursement — such as requiring tech firms to also reimburse fraud victims — are a distraction that “reduce the ability to speak freely and share best practice."
