OmeTV removed from Apple, Google app stores following Australian watchdog's concerns

( October 28, 2025, 04:46 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Apple and Google have agreed to remove roulette-style video-chat service OmeTV from their Australian app stores, after the country’s online-safety watchdog warned the tech companies that the app was being used by predatory adults to groom and sexually exploit children. In a statement, the eSafety Commissioner said the movement followed the warning sent to OmeTV’s Portuguese-based parent company Bad Kitty’s Data for alleged breaches of Australia’s codes and standards, in particular the Relevant Electronic Services industry standard.
