EE, O2, VodafoneThree secure 5G bands as UK regulator wraps up mmWave auction

( October 24, 2025, 10:15 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: EE, O2 and VodafoneThree have each won new 5G licenses in the UK’s latest mmWave spectrum auction. Each mobile operator will pay £13 million for new uses of the 26- and 40-gigahertz bands. The results, confirmed by UK telecom regulator Ofcom on Friday, conclude the watchdog’s biggest high-frequency spectrum release to date. Ofcom said the auction seeks to boost network capacity and improve mobile services in busy areas.Statement follows....
