OpenAI inches toward seeing ChatGPT regulated under EU digital rulebook

The move would make ChatGPT the first standalone AI service regulated under the DSA, marking a key precedent for how AI-driven online services are regulated in Europe. Formal designation could still take a few weeks. ChatGPT’s user base in Europe has surpassed the threshold that would qualify it as a regulated search engine “with systemic risks” under the EU Digital Services Act, according to data OpenAI published on Tuesday....
