Aylo hit with $5 million penalty by FTC, Utah over CSAM hosting, privacy violations

( September 3, 2025, 17:18 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Aylo, the operator of Pornhub and hundreds of other porn sites, must pay a $5 million fine and implement systems to prevent the presence of Child Sexual Abuse Material and non-consensual sexual content — such as revenge porn — on its website, based on allegations and a proposed settlement with the US Federal Trade Commission and the state of Utah. "Pornhub’s operators inflicted grave harm on children and nonconsenting adults by promoting and distributing truly horrific material online,” said FTC Commissioner Melissa Holyoak. “As today’s complaint and proposed order make clear, the FTC will use every tool in its arsenal to stop such outrageous conduct.” Text of FTC statement follows in full.
