Slater says US DOJ weighing options following remedy ruling in Google search suit

( September 2, 2025, 22:36 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: US Department of Justice antitrust head Gail Slater said the agency is weighing its options after a District of Columbia federal judge issued a remedy order in its lawsuit against Google's illegal search monopoly. "The court didn’t order all of our requested relief, and we are weighing our options. But the court did agree with the need for remedies that will restore competition and reopen the digital playing field, driving investment and innovation that will ensure America leads the next era of technology," Slater said in a post on X. The court recognized a key inflection point with the development of AI, giving the US "a leg up" in the global AI race while preventing Google from slowing down AI innovation with the same anticompetitive playbook it used to freeze search competition," Slater said. "It's critical we get this right."See attached document....
