Minnesota AG sues TikTok over addictive features

( August 19, 2025, 23:09 GMT | Official Statement) -- Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has sued TikTok for allegedly violating Minnesota’s consumer protection laws with an app designed to addict young users with "predatory" features like infinite scroll, filters and push notifications that prolong use of the app and encourage users to waste time and money on the platform. "TikTok works much like a slot machine," the complaint says. "It exploits young users’ behavioral and neurobiological vulnerabilities to keep them mindlessly and impulsively using the App for longer. The App’s design features confuse and control young users, driving them to make choices on the App that benefit TikTok’s bottom line, at the expense of their emotional, behavioral, and physical health."See attached complaint....
