Thailand media conglomerate Nation Group reports cyberattacks

( July 28, 2025, 07:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Nation Group, one of Thailand’s biggest English-language media groups, said it was hit by cyberattacks in the wake of the Thai-Cambodian conflict that broke out on July 23. The company alleges a Cambodian information operation was behind the cyberattack, which included the mass creation of fake accounts, the use of bots to facilitate false news posts and comments, along with false reports to Meta to trigger takedown requests. In a statement, Nation Group said it had activated geo-blocking measures, restricting access to its platforms based on users' IP addresses and country of origin. Thailand's National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission and the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society are also coordinating with Meta to prevent future attacks.
