FTC, Amazon 'dark patterns' trial length increased by US judge

( July 25, 2025, 17:25 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The US Federal Trade Commission has won its bid to increase the length of its trial against Amazon scheduled this year in federal court in Seattle to 20 days, from 15 days, giving each side 10 days to put on their case. "The Court hereby orders that the trial in this matter be extended to permit the FTC ten days to put on its case and Defendants ten days to put on their case, for a total of 20 days," US District Judge John Chun wrote in the order, in the case over Amazon's alleged use of deceptive "dark patterns" design to make it more difficult for consumers to cancel their Prime subscriptions.See attached document....
