UK opens consultation on self-driving vehicle passenger services

The Department for Transport said safety, innovation, regulation and accessibility would be at the forefront of the consultation on the Automated Passenger Services permits plan, part of the Automate Vehicles Act, ahead of pilots launching in spring 2026 that won’t require a safety driver.
