EU consumer groups set to discuss digital consumer protection enforcement

( July 14, 2025, 10:31 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Michael McGrath, the EU's Justice Commissioner, will convene an "implementation dialogue" in Brussels tomorrow to address the application of consumer protection laws in the digital economy, as part of preparations for the forthcoming Digital Fairness Act. The meeting — designed to gather feedback from stakeholders on the enforcement of EU rules — will bring together consumer groups, industry associations and public authorities, to assess key directives and explore ways to streamline legislation without weakening consumer safeguards. A second dialogue — also hosted by McGrath, and focusing on the application of the General Data Protection Regulation — will follow on Wednesday.The press release follows....
