The proposal aims to create a unified regulatory framework for Europe’s space sector to strengthen market access, reduce fragmentation and address growing safety and environmental risks. It introduces binding rules on space debris mitigation, cybersecurity for space infrastructure, and environmental impact reporting, and would apply to EU and non-EU operators alike.
