Online platforms see UK regulator establish new misinformation committee

( April 28, 2025, 14:11 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Platforms covered by the UK Online Safety Act saw the national regulator Ofcom establish today a new misinformation and disinformation committee. Initially promised for the end of 2024, the Online Information Advisory Committee will advise the watchdog on how to ensure regulated services are effectively preventing the spread of disinformation and misinformation.
