UK online safety rules have children's backing, report says

( April 24, 2025, 13:22 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex summary: Proposed rules for tech companies to protect children as set out by the UK online safety regulator are supported by most UK children, according to a report published by Ofcom today. While there is support for the "responsibilities on services to keep children safe," many of the children interviewed on Ofcom's proposals expressed concerns about effective implementation. The report is based on a consultation process commissioned by Ofcom to research agency Revealing Reality, which involved 112 children aged 8 to 17 from across the UK.Statement follows.
