UK satellite-filing rules open for consultation

( March 31, 2025, 14:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Updates to the UK’s current satellite filing rules were proposed today under new plans by telecom regulator Ofcom. Proposed changes include stricter requirements for satellites in the low Earth orbit, as well as quick notifications when satellites deviate from their authorized orbits. The changes reflect updates on international regulations that govern the process for satellite filings, as well as an increased number of operators that apply through the UK.
