UK mobile service providers to get access to more spectrum for 4G and 5G

( February 4, 2025, 11:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: UK mobile service providers saw the national telecom regulator, Ofcom, announce today the auction of more spectrum for 4G and 5G. Ofcom says that deploying parts of the 1.4 GHz band will help improve service in areas where coverage is patchy. To avoid potential disruption to maritime vessels and aircraft, Ofcom plans to limit the power that mobile networks can transmit around certain ports and airports.
