( February 1, 2025, 22:00 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Tech companies will see the introduction in the UK of criminal legislation to tackle individuals using AI to generate child sexual abuse material, or CSAM. The government has now announced plans to make it illegal for anyone to possess, create or distribute AI tools designed to generate CSAM. Other measures announced include making it illegal to possess guides on how to use AI to sexually abuse children, introducing a specific offense for owners of CSAM websites, and giving Border Force agents the power to search the devices of suspects.Statement follows....
