Czechia must repay agricultural insurance state aid, EU says

( July 29, 2025, 10:13 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Czechia has been ordered to recover insurance premiums it granted to certain large agricultural companies in 2018 to cover against natural disasters and weather damage, after the European Commission found it had fallen foul of state aid rules. The regulator found that Czechia had wrongly classified the large businesses as small- and medium-sized enterprises, therefore they received aid for which they didn’t meet the conditions under the bloc’s agricultural state aid guidelines.Statement follows....
