Romanian multimodal freight transport study open for feedback

( April 25, 2025, 11:21 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Romanian antitrust authority has said that ensuring a balanced tax regime for all transport modes, to avoid favoring one transport means over less-polluting options, is one of the suggestions made to boost competitiveness and sustainability in multimodal freight transport. Despite Romania's favorable geographic position, multimodal freight transport is underutilized due to poor infrastructure. Investments would raise freight flows, increasing the country's transport potential, says a study carried out by the Naval Transport Oversight Council and the National Railway Oversight Council, recommending that the strategy in this field be updated.
