( September 22, 2026, 05:59 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Uber Technologies and Delivery Hero’s proposed transaction, which would give Uber control of South Korea’s largest food-delivery platform Baedal Minjok, has entered preliminary review by the Korea Fair Trade Commission. The regulator said Tuesday that it had received Uber’s application for an advance merger review of its planned acquisition of all Delivery Hero shares through a tender offer. The deal would bring Uber’s South Korean taxi-hailing business and Baedal Minjok under common control and could expand cross-platform use, as well as related membership, advertising and promotional offerings. The regulator said it will examine the transaction’s impact on competition in the taxi-hailing and food-delivery markets, as well as on rivals, users and merchants.Statement is attached (in Korean)....
