US states, Paramount, Warner agree to resolve claims, enter proposed consent decree

Discovery and the US states that sued to block the merger have agreed to resolve claims brought against the companies and entered into a proposed consent decree. The agreement includes commitments such as: a minimum number of annual film releases, investment and pricing commitments for films and theatres, separate negotiations for distribution of basic cable channels from the two companies for five years, continuing investment in the entertainment industry, and compliance measures.
