L'Oréal-Gucci licensing deal under review in Australia

( August 20, 2026, 02:37 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: L’Oréal's proposal to enter into a 50-year worldwide exclusive license to create, develop, manufacture and distribute Gucci-branded fragrance and beauty products is under review by Australia's competition watchdog. The Australian Competition & Consumer Commission on Wednesday said the deal would replace Coty’s license when it ends on June 30, 2027. In Australia, L’Oréal and Gucci’s Coty-operated beauty business both supply premium fragrances and, to a lesser extent, premium color cosmetics, the regulator said.
