Japan's Sony, Taiwan's TSMC agree on image-sensor JV with $4.7bn contributions

The companies plan to contribute at least a combined 747 billion yen ($4.7 billion) to the joint venture, which is expected to begin volume production in 2029 and will be subject to regulatory approvals, with further investment in production capacity also being considered with Japanese government support.Statement is attached....
