Holcim Australia's proposed acquisition of Burdetts Group faces regulatory review

In a statement late on Monday, the Australia Competition & Consumer Commission said Holcim, a Swiss multinational company, supplies sand and hard rock aggregates, ready-mix concrete, engineered concrete solutions and precast pipes in Australia. The regulator added that family-owned Burdetts' core business includes supplying processed extractive sands along with soils and landscaping materials in Melbourne and it also operates a ready-mix concrete plant in Langwarrin in the state of Victoria.
