US judge orders Paramount-Warner parties to confer on path forward, extends TRO
( July 23, 2026, 21:19 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: A California federal judge ordered lead trial counsel for Paramount Skydance-Warner Bros. Discovery, US state plaintiffs and the Writers Guild of America "to meet and confer in an effort to reach consensus on the path forward in resolving the two motions for preliminary injunction" against the transaction. US District Judge Araceli Martínez-Olguín said that by noon on Friday, July 24, "they shall file either (1) a stipulation regarding the schedule for briefing and hearing the motions, or (2) a joint report regarding the outcome of their meet and confer efforts." The judge also extended the duration of the temporary restraining order stopping the closing of the transaction by an additional 14 days, through Aug. 17. See attached file....
