US FCC should approve Amazon-Globalstar deal, tech think tank argues
( July 21, 2026, 18:43 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Information Technology and Innovation Foundation told the US Federal Communications Commission that it should approve the transfer of control of Globalstar's licenses and authorizations to Amazon due to the benefits of the transaction, according to comments submitted to the agency. The transaction would "promote more productive use of Globalstar's internationally harmonized Mobile-Satellite Service (MSS) spectrum, strengthen competition in the emerging direct-to-device (D2D) market, and expand connectivity to areas that currently lack reliable Internet access," the ITIF said.See attached document....
