J&P Turner-Turners & Growers Fresh deal raises antitrust concerns in New Zealand

In a statement of preliminary issues published on Monday, the New Zealand Commerce Commission said it will investigate the degree of constraint that the parties impose upon one another for the wholesale supply of fresh produce. The regulator added that in its application, JPT said the companies, involved in the wholesale supply and distribution of fresh produce in New Zealand, are not each other’s closest competitors and have different business models.
