In a statement on Tuesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that in Australia, Amazon Leo, operated by Amazon, has an agreement with government-owned telecommunications enterprise NBN Co to deliver fixed-satellite broadband services to regional, remote and rural customers. The regulator added that Globalstar, which supplies global narrowband/mobile satellite-service connectivity services for voice and data communications applications, currently provides Apple with direct-to-device satellite-connectivity services on certain iPhone and Apple Watch models. The regulator said Amazon has agreed to to continue providing Apple with D2D services following the acquisition. The watchdog is seeking views on the deal until July 7.Statement follows.
