US FCC expects to act on Nexstar-Tegna AFR ‘this year,’ agency tells DC Circuit

The FCC said the coalition of state broadband associations and Newsmax Media Inc., which argue the agency cannot waive or amend the national ownership cap, should not be granted an expedited review and highlighted proceedings that should be taken into account when looking into the internal application.The US Federal Communications Commission said it expects to act the calendar year on the application for review regarding Nexstar’s acquisition of Tegna and argued that the DC Circuit should not expedite that review....
