Calvary's bid to acquire Holmesglen hospital to be reviewed by Australian watchdog

( March 30, 2026, 07:03 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The proposal by Little Company of Mary Health Care, trading as Calvary, to acquire the business and assets of Holmesglen Private Hospital from Healthscope is under Phase 1 review by Australia’s competition watchdog. In a statement on Monday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Calvary is a not-for-profit operator of public and private hospitals in Australia. The regulator said while Calvary operates one healthcare facility in the state of Victoria, Holmesglen Private Hospital, also located in Victoria, is currently operated by Healthscope. The watchdog added that Healthscope’s parent entities went into voluntary administration in May 2025. The regulator is seeking feedback on the deal via a questionnaire until April 8.Statement follows. Questionnaire is attached....
