Sinopec-China National Aviation Fuel Group deal being assessed by Australian regulator

( March 27, 2026, 06:55 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: The Australian competition regulator is currently assessing the proposed acquisition of China National Aviation Fuel Group by China Petrochemical Corporation, commonly known as Sinopec. In a statement on Friday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said the deal would involve China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council’s transfer of 100 percent of the equity of China National Aviation Fuel Group into Sinopec. The regulator said Sinopec is a state-owned oil and gas company located in China, which holds shares in several Australian subsidiaries. The regulator said China National Aviation Fuel Group, which does not have a physical presence in Australia, is a state-owned aviation company providing, storage, inspection, sales and into-plane service of aviation fuel.Statement follows.
