Adobe's bid for marketing software maker Semrush to be reviewed in Australia

( March 18, 2026, 05:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Adobe Inc’s proposed acquisition of 100 percent of the share capital of Semrush Holdings, through its newly incorporated wholly owned subsidiary Fenway Merger Sub, will be investigated by Australia’s antitrust regulator. In a statement Tuesday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said that US-headquartered Adobe’s main offerings include products for customer-experience orchestration and creativity and productivity. The regulator said Semrush, also headquartered in the US, provides an online-visibility management and content marketing service offering a range of tools to manage web-brand presence. The deal is valued at $1.9 billion (A$2.6 billion) globally. It received US antitrust clearance in January. The watchdog said that the proposed transaction is being implemented "pursuant to a merger agreement entered into between Adobe, Merger Sub, and Semrush" on Nov. 18, 2025.Statement follows.
