Apex-Mercer Administration Services deal approved in Australia

( March 12, 2026, 06:06 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Global financial solutions provider Apex Group’s proposal to acquire all of the issued share capital in Mercer Administration Services (Australia) and certain assets of Mercer Outsourcing (Australia) and Mercer Outsourcing has received regulatory clearance from the Australian competition watchdog. In a determination issued on Thursday, the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission said Apex and Mercer overlap in the supply of administration services to superannuation funds and trustees. The regulator said that while some market participants noted the third-party superannuation administration services market is concentrated and has high barriers to entry, the watchdog found the parties’ combined market share after the acquisition would remain low.Determination is attached....
