Mitsubishi Fuso, Taiwan's Foxconn to jointly produce zero-emission buses in Japan

( January 22, 2026, 07:47 GMT | Official Statement) -- MLex Summary: Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus and Taiwan’s Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn, agreed on Thursday to a joint venture that will produce zero-emission buses in Japan. The new company will be based in Kawasaki City in Kanagawa Prefecture, with production taking place at Mitsubishi's facility in Toyama City. After signing an agreement on Thursday, Mitsubishi Fuso and Foxconn aim to close the deal in the second half of 2026, or by December, subject to all parties involved reaching an agreement and receiving approval from boards, shareholders and authorities.The statement from Mitsubishi Fuso is attached.
