Judge Newman turns to Supreme Court in fight for US judicial independence

Her colleagues maintain she is unfit to serve, but the 98-year-old told MLex she remains steadfast in pursuing her appeal, in hopes it will help protect other federal judges from ouster.After more than four decades at the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, Judge Pauline Newman feels her best when behind the bench.
