IP crime could be fought through UK online safety law, lawmakers suggest

Such measures could be part of future updates to online safety legislation, a group of lawmakers said at a meeting on the issue on Wednesday.A group of UK lawmakers focused on intellectual property issues have suggested that future online safety legislation should oblige platforms and e-commerce sites to put in place more rigorous “know your customer” and “know your vendor” measures.
