US House vote could restore USPTO examiners’ union protections

By Nick Robertson ( December 11, 2025, 22:15 GMT | Insight) -- The US House passed the Protect America’s Workforce Act on Thursday, a bill that would nullify a Trump executive order that effectively stripped thousands of federal employees of union protections, as well as restore those protections similarly stripped from US Patent and Trademark Office patent examiners.While the union representing patent examiners at the US Patent and Trademark Office fights in court to halt an August executive order which exempted members from their collective bargaining agreements, the House voted Thursday to nullify the White House move....
