Major SEP holders commit to mediation pledge

The agreement is aimed at preempting litigation over standard essential patents, or SEPs, in the sector.On Thursday, Ericsson, Nokia, Qualcomm, Huawei and Sisvel, all major holders of IoT SEPs, collectively put in place a standing offer to enter into confidential mediation with small businesses to resolve SEP licensing terms. Under the agreement, the SEP holders commit to refrain from bringing litigation against the prospective licensee while mediation is ongoing....
