Dunlop International triumphs as Indian court revokes trademark approvals

By Freny Patel ( June 20, 2025, 00:09 GMT | Insight) -- In a major win for Dunlop International, an Indian court has canceled eight trademark registrations for the "DUNLOP" mark held by Glorious Investment. The Calcutta High Court ruled that the Registrar of Trade Marks' decisions were "procedurally flawed, unreasoned, and passed in violation of natural justice." These orders had allowed Glorious Investment to claim the "Dunlop" trademark across various product categories, despite Dunlop International's objections.  All eight cases have been sent back to the Registrar, which must now reconsider them after a full hearing for all parties within three months.Dunlop International won a legal battle as an Indian court has set aside eight orders from the Registrar of Trade Marks, which had permitted Glorious Investment to register the "DUNLOP" mark across various product classes....
