Dynamic blocking injunctions available abroad remain out of reach in US

Congress could remove the statutory authority obstacle, but the dramatic demise of the SOPA Act — following intense opposition from web stalwarts like Google and Reddit — led to over a decade of online piracy legislative inertia. A new bill proposed last month would bridge the gap for US brands but panelists at the International Trademark Association’s annual meeting weren’t sold on its odds of passage.The availability of dynamic blocking injunctions, or DBIs, in some EU member states and Asian countries leaves many US trademark owners green with envy, for good reason....
