Epson petitions USITC to investigate Chinese printer ink manufacturers

The two petitions seek an exclusion order barring the importation of the allegedly infringing ink cartridges and components.A group of Chinese companies are importing printer ink cartridges and components into the US which infringe 10 Seiko Epson Corp. patents, Epson alleged in two US International Trade Commission petitions received on Tuesday. The petitions allege violations of Section 337 of the Tariff Act, seeking an exclusion order to bar the 19 Chinese firms from importing the allegedly infringing products into the US, in addition to a cease and desist order....
