Tasked with deciding whether to reinstate a Texas jury’s $506 million verdict, uphold the $300 million awarded to Optis in a damages-only retrial, or order a new trial on Apple’s infringement liability, all three judges were incredulous that neither side updated them this week with a copy of the UK judgment.Optis and Apple squared off today in the US over the outcome of two Texas trials that ultimately saw Optis win $300 million for Apple’s infringement of five 4G (LTE) cellular standard essential patents, or SEPs....
