Cipriani Bellini maker accuses former US importer of selling knock-off prosecco drink

By Nick Robertson ( May 6, 2025, 16:09 GMT | Insight) -- Altunis-Trading, the Italian maker of prosecco blend Cipriani Bellini, sued its former US importer, Monsieur Touton Selection, for trade dress and trademark infringement, accusing the company of selling a substantially identical prosecco blend with the same seafoam green trade dress, causing confusion in the marketplace. Altunis further alleged that Touton is using its state-designated importation monopoly in North Carolina and Virginia to prevent another importer from selling Cipriani.US alcohol importer Monsieur Touton Selection faces claims that it sells a knock-off version of a former licensee’s prosecco drink in a new lawsuit filed in the US Southern District of New York....
